TW: Fighting A Battle

 My battle wounds show

Arms

Legs

You see the depth of a war

A war that was lost

Battle that is trying to form again

Battle of strength and weakness

Wear the weakness lost

Which was the skin on my body

Mountains formed

Ridges seen

Stories to tell

The battle that was lost

With words swirling in the wind

Not making any sense

Trying to create structure

Sense of security

Yet failure shows

Reminds you that nothing you are

Dementors swirling around

Grasping your breathe

Making it hard to breath

Trying to fight

Being pinned

Not being able to move

The life is slowly leaving you

Stopping it you can’t

You stand there and watch

With the tornado in your head

The words swirling in the wind

Dementor like creatures overhead

Not fight to give

You have none left

Numbness

Shutting down

Closing off

That’s what you’re good at

Somehow we have to protect what little is left

Every ounce of you tries

You fall to the ground

Begin to crawl

Crawling to safety

As the world is crashing around you

Curling up in a fetal position

You have nothing left

Your mind is racing

The wind is blowing

The rain is pouring

The life is leaving you

Yet, you’re trying to survive

Fighting this battle

No weapons

Nothing in your hand

Just the life you have

The battle is slowly coming to an en

Does anyone see you

In an empty field

Curled up

Trying to survive
