Safe in your home
Yeah, sure, I feel safe
I’m not talking about physical safety
Then what do you mean
Safety from words
The ones that can hurt
Ones that stay and penetrate deeply
Actions that scream silently
Invisible objects flying towards you
So many things that are unseen
No marks to show
Marks tell the truth
Show the pain
That runs deep within my veins
Invisibility remains
False safety stays and play
Words are daggers piercing my skin
Yet I still pretend I am safe
People around me scream my name
Trying to pull me down further
Flinching in a reality that is in my head
Hoping something real comes along
An escape from the false perception
That is all around me
Am I safe
I don’t know
Maybe answer it for me
I am lost in world
That has haunted me
