You see me laying there
On the cold white ground
Wondering if I’m breathing
If I’m even moving.
You kneel down beside me
Brush your hand on my cheek
Watching
Caring
Wondering
If I’m still alive
You look up to see
Another face before you
Looking down at you
Looking down at me
You kneel too
As your hand touches mine
Looking
Watching
Waiting
For that breathe to come
They give each a nod
As they pick me up
Dragging me
As far as they can
There in the distance
They see what they need
The snow begins to fall
Time is now slow
I am now warm
My body begins to thaw
They look down at me
Watching
Waiting
Caring
What is left to see
They touch my face
They hold my hand
The warmth fills them
As it fills me
You both smile
As you see I have won
Now another battle
Not to lose one more
