Lost Battle

 i feel my eyes welling

the stinging of tears

i fight them so they do not fall

they are to strong today

for my heart breaks in two

my chest grows tight

a tear begins to fall

my battle starts to fail

i can not hang on anymore

with steaming hot flow

falling far from within

it makes an exit with a burst of energy

i can not control this

but why

i ask

the pain runs to deep

i have held on far to long

my body can not fight

this battle has lost

i hold myself tight

until i can breathe

my cheeks are on fire

from the streaming of tears

i am finally able to think

still no clue why

my body needed a release

for the lost battle just won
