Not Letting Go

 I feel the walls closing in

I feel my breathe

trying to fight

I feel you trying to get close

I feel the need to push

 

You can’t hurt me

I won’t let you.

I have to push you

I have to breathe

 

I feel your arms around me

Telling me you will never leave

I have to push you

before you hurt me

 

I feel we are close

I can’t let that be

For I know you will hurt me

like every man before

 

If I push first then I will

win this battle

I have to win for I can’t be

hurt again

 

You see what I’m doing

You hold on tighter

You know this too shall pass

so like many others

 

You remind me you love me

You remind me that you care

You remind me that we are friends

that stick together til the end

You remind me you know how to

push me back the same

 

For I feel that tug still

of you not leaving me be

I feel your arms wrapped tighter

I feel our love grow

I feel that friendship grow closer

more beautiful than before
