Tears

 I sit there in front of you

with my knees tucked under
my arms wrapped around me
with my head hung low

you stand above me
looking down trying to decide
the sun from the window
shines on my face

you see a tear falling down
you kneel down next to me
take your hand so gentle
you move my chin up to you

you look in my eyes
you see the tears streaming down
you cup my face ever so gentle
you wipe my tears away
you remind me that I am safe
as I begin to tremble

you sit next to me
holding me tight
as I collapse in your arms
letting out frustrations
the pain
the hurt

for once in a long time
I know I can breathe
with my head cradled in your arms

thank you for just holding me
without saying a word
for this is what I needed
to feel loved just for a moment
